krunklom@lemmy.zipto Movies@lemmy.world•Are the Jurassic Park sequels the biggest collection of dogshit of any movie franchise? (Jurassic World Rebirth spoilers)English2·8 hours agoi was watching jurassic world in the theatre and drinking heavily. i kept laughing at the god awful dialogue and ridiculous plot points. a couple people glared at me… the first time. The second time the whole theatre was joining in.
it was just so fucking bad. there is something about being in a theatre that helps people not notice the shit, and ive often found that all it takes is some laughter to cut theough the shitty veneer and the garbage is evident.
i enjoyed the movie. but it was not a good movie.
this is my take on it too.
I don’t see why a group of people can’t pool resources and lvie collectively around shared values while also participating in many of the morrundane aspects of modern life.
like. Why couldnt half of the commune leave to go work and come back? And even if people sre living communally, how communal does it need to be, reslly?
I am not super knowledgeable on the subject but the little i know seems to indicate that there are always pepple that dont pull their weight - and maybe that is one of the big problems here? Trading the oppressive weight of obligation from contemporary urban living for the weight of obligation fron a more intimate communal setting seems very tit for tat.
then again I really don’t have much knowledge here. just observations from the outside.
way back in the early oughts i was in a tech enjanced learning program - on paper it was a solid idea. Small class size with hands-on support from our schools more tech literate teachers.
in practice we pretty much just tried to play quake 3 with each other withojt getting caught.
our teacher was on a years long crusade to find the server hosting the quake 3 installer, as we had software that locked the hard drives so any changes would be undone when rebooted. to my knowledge he never did, and the entire drama around it was hollarious.
it needs an uninformative but funny file extension.

i mean. i have a 15 amp fuse in my apartment and a 10 second cideo takes like 10 minutes to make, i dont know how much energy a 4090 draws but anyone that has an issue with me using mine to generate a 10 second bideo better not play pc games.
its text on a fucking background. who fucking gives a shit how it was made? its not generating revenue and it has more impact than plain text. fuck off.

We also need to move away from the hierarchical top-down mode of education we use today.

Am i really supposed such a jarring and complete lack of ceitical thinking ability to believe that this is an issue worth writing an article about?
To explain: of all the monumentally incompetent, illegal, mond-numbingly stupid, and agressively short-sighted things a trenager is inevitably going to type into a school laptop I’m supposed to believe that THIS, this is what is worth writing an article about?
I do not disagree with what the author is teying to say but holy fucking shit what a load of pandering, steaming shit this is.
Getting flagged for being trans is, like, one of a countless number of idiotic things a teenager could do with a school laptop with monitoring software installed that could potentially land them in hot water.
The dangers of normalizing surveillance amongst students are so fucking multitudinous that to highlight any one of them is fuckjng pointless when addressing the root of it covers ALL of them. Including the subject of this article.
why not just eat off the floor at that point?
What kind of fucking savage wears shoes inside?
The person before you is referencing the speed lf development. It is very likely that humans possessed relatively sophisticated language for the 190k years ebfore civilization happened. Exponential, or at least greatly accelerated, growth seems to really pick up after writtrn language happens in many cases.
theres evidence of cooking by honinid species stretching back well, WELL before homo sapiens arrived on the scene, and plenty of evidence suggesting people like had sophisticated language for that time as well.
