Before reading the caption, I thought Charlie Brown was going to be involved somehow…
A riff on petrifried forests, i.e. where the wood from ancient trees has been mineralized over millions of years, preserving their shape.
The more famous one is Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona
There’s also a petrified forest in Calistoga, CA
That can’t possibly be right, because it didn’t appear in my YouTube recommendations.

I thought the joke was related to the “AI” written on right’s helmet that was revealed in the last panel, but apparently that’s not it.

The hilarity of driver pickup waiting rooms, competing for desirable pickups in the same app, and being alone in the dark with your phone.
Tesla had their Model Y and Model 3 refreshes, a gimmick they can’t repeat for the next few years.
GM had impressive gains in sales and market share.
Some other major EV makers like Hyundai and Volkswagen got clobbered by fucking Trump tariffs.
Here’s the data: https://caredge.com/guides/electric-vehicle-market-share-and-sales
I wonder what the 2.0% market share of “Additional EV Models” is, that started Q1 2025?
Does that mean people are smuggling BYDs across the border from Mexico?

Is it static, or can one change it locally, and/or upload contributions?
And just think: Those are 1,000+ active users, as opposed to masses of inactive users who joined Lemmy in previous waves then stopped using it.

Which includes (a justified IMO) 45% EU tariff on Chinese cars, due to massive manufacturing subsidies.

“Nepal is ahead in EV adoption and taking proactive steps to cut carbon emissions. Fossil fuels will run out one day, but with abundant clean hydropower, Nepal is in a perfect position to drive the shift to sustainable transport.”
I hope it happens for them!

Oh I remember that ad too.
I was trying to say that Larson’s verbal reference is
torturedinelegant. IMO of course.
Crocodile tears.
It was always the CCP/government’s intention to a) quickly transition China’s domestic auto fleet to electric, b) build their domestic EV industry, and c) flood foreign markets with electric vehicles to grab and dominate market share and destroy foreign competitors by dumping product.
And they’re getting all of it.
Not that they’re the first Asian Tiger country to do that kind of thing.
