Kissing a random kid and doing it in the stomach is not common even in the countryside across many cultures he is not a part of. That was indeed a WTF moment but no one at the time gave it a second thought besides one guy who got poisoned in London not long after that allegation, but to be fair he made a lot of these after defecting.
