After 10 hours of deliberations, a majority of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet backed his proposal to prepare to conquer the core of Gaza City, according to a pre-dawn statement from his office. […] The risky plan by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not backed by the Israeli military’s chief of staff and will thrust the war with Hamas into uncharted territory.

They’re just going to take it and draw out a place for Trump Armageddon Land Theme Park and Golf Resort (Whites only).

Take it before Palestine gains recognition and expect it just to go away. Which it very well may because the USA is going to use economic warfare and military threats to contribute to it going away. Like the Epstein files.

I don’t think they will take it fast. Many military and intelligence people in Israel have warned against it. The fighters in Gaza have been preparing many years for a new ground invasion. Throughout the past 2 years Israel often claimed to have conquered an area, only for the army to keep being hit in guerilla operations in those “conquered” areas.

If we’re lucky we’ll completely collapse from all this ineptitude by then and won’t be able to bully other countries. Then I’m sure Germany can take up the mantle, or the UK will stop mulling statehood and do a 180. Cause nothing can be fucking nice here.

Germany and the UK are two of the worst offenders outside the U.S. I certainly don’t expect either of them to take a stand for Palestinians’ rights to peace, land, and sovereignty.

Yes, I was glad to see it, but it does seem like very little and very late.

It seems to me like a lot of countries, including Germany, talk out of both sides of their mouth on Palestine. The UK has been doing the same thing - demanding a ceasefire while at the same time arguing in court that there’s “no evidence of genocide in Gaza,” - a clear lie - while also criminalizing and arresting even peaceful protesters who speak up about the Holocaust being perpetrated against the Palestinian people.

I’m thankful for small shifts in a moral direction, but I don’t think this will change the fundamental reality on the ground. Likud’s stated goal in their founding platform is to deny any Palestinian sovereignty and conquer the entire region. It will take a lot more than a temporary, partial delay of shipments from one nation to prevent the genocide of Palestine.
