    To the surprise of…? People got what they vote for, yet another conservative term with conservatives doing what conservatives do. What does the public expect?

      And he is not even one of the more intelligent conservatives, he’s a Grade-A grifter and drifting towards fascism like a stanced Supra.

        That’s really the formula. It’s not about a political background, it’s about convincing stupid and/or hateful people you’re their guy. It’s really no surprise the top offices of government end up in those people’s possession. They can convince many people that they’re everything those people want. They’re obviously lying, but their supporters don’t want truth, they just want to think they’re right

      Well, no. Merz and his party campaigned for harsh austerity. Once it was clear they’d be in charge of forming the government, austerity was off the table and a debt based plan for spending up to 1 trillion € was drawn up. Only thing is: The people themselves still get austerity. The money is mostly going to be spent on tax breaks for the rich.
