    Pretty sure it was the other way around, if your analogy holds at all. The original government fled to the island as Maoist communist rebellion took over. So it would be like if the Union was on the island and confederates took over the mainland.

    Lo siento Puerto Rico but I would take that. Much better than the confederates and fascists controlling the mainland. Let them declare that they are the true USA if they want, just happy if they would remove themselves.

    Again with the downvotes, lol. Taiwan has been a Western political puppet since forever, or as MacArthur would put it, their “unsinkable aircraft carrier”. 😉

    It’s okay, at least they’ve started hating Israel after a livestreamed genocide. Deprogramming takes time, I guess.

      The CCP were the rebels fighting the pre-existing government (the Republic of China.)

      You can argue about who the good guys are, I guess. But, eh, I wouldn’t describe Mao as a “good guy” and don’t really care to defend the republic of china either.

      As for Mao, he killed tens of millions of his own people, so, yeah.
