My cat once slipped his head through a handle of a paper bag like that while sleeping on it. Then he jumped off the couch and absolute chaos ensued. He drag the bag behind him and it inflated like a parachute and making a lot of noise which totally freaked him out.

He eventually managed to rip off the handle (glad it was a paper bag) while dragging it under some furniture, but he was quite traumatized after that. Didn’t come out of his favorite hiding spot for half a day.

Mine did that and her thrashing twisted the bag so it wound the handle tighter and tighter around her neck. I had to grab scissors and cut it, got scratched up of course

Aww. I think I had a similar experience with my cat. Nothing can really be done in the moment. And nothing you say really helps until the chaos subsidies for a minute, and you can get in there to help. Hope your pal is over it all now!

True story, she got herself tangled up in the bag without anyone’s help cause she’s a little dumbass. Luckily she’s an adorable little dumbass.

This is the exact reason our Church, long hair grey, is deathly afraid of plastic shopping bags.
