To anyone who gets this:
do not let the podiatrist convince you to do the partial removal. Ask your podiatrist if a full nail avulsion could be preferable to a partial avulsion if minimizing chance of reoccurence is the most important factor to you. Ie, removing a tiny strip from one or both sides of the nail. It is HIGHLY likely it will get bad again. Have them do a full phenol cauterization and remove the entire nail. You dont need it, and you’ll be better off without it. However, I’m no doctor.

Bruh… just say genocide if you aren’t a genocide denier. You dont deny there is a genocide in Palestine, do you? No? Then stop the disingenuous casting of it as a normal, symmetrical war.
Leftists who refused to vote for Kamala did not do so because of “conflict”. Leftists who chose not to vote for Kamala did so because of genocide. Stop whitewashing. Engage honestly with the actual leftist position instead of your strawman.

What I remember was the Democratic establishment being presented with a simple choice between halting fascism and doing genocide, and they went balls deep in genocide. In reality, halting fascism via the Democrats was never in the cards.

Yes… I know… the point was not that AI is stealing water from the Middle East. The point is that, whether its datacenters in the west, or climate change in the Middle East, profit motive, corporate greed, and theft are the main causes of water scarcity and lack of water collaboration. As is stated more elegantly in the numerous sources I’ve linked - which quantify water scarcity at the hands of corporations.
these places were going to run out of water eventually anyways
Source? This is a massive statement. You think that since humans first settled the Middle East, they were doomed to run out of water? How do even prove or disprove this? Any analysis here is predicated upon a history of capitalism and imperialism.
Ferrous@lemmy.mlto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Overpopulation will only become an issue due to the artificial scarcity and greed of capitalism rather than the actual populationEnglish3·8 days agoClimate change is listed as one of the main contributors to water scarcity in the Middle East and North Africa. And as we know, capitalism is one of the main drivers of climate change. Water scarcity is a result of capitalism and corporate greed. Until AI companies are no longer able to move into towns and suck up their entire aquifer just to make AI slop, there is not as much of a water scarcity as there is a water hoarding and theft.

So, what are the facts relating to China’s Social Credit System (SoCS)? First, a system does exist, but it is very different from what is imagined by many critics outside China. The biggest disconnect is around the notion of scores. Some commentators seem to imagine that a magic algorithm draws from AI cameras and internet surveillance all over the country to calculate a score that determines everyone’s place in society. In reality, the SoCS is not the techno-dystopian nightmare we fear: it is lowly digitalized, highly fragmented, and primarily focuses on businesses. Most importantly, such a score simply does not exist.

Classic lib move: dunking on nonexistent “ebil ccp” systems that started off as rumors mere days after the west decided it would clamp down on any semblance of internet freedom - upon a backdrop of rapidly burgeoning fascism and concentration camps. The US State Department has effortlessly oriented you.
Ferrous@lemmy.mlto News@lemmy.world•Trump plan to end free elections in 2026 and 2028 revealedEnglish2·9 days agoPeople who push this kind of thinking still think warfare is carried out and progresses like it did in the Napoleonic era: two orderly opposed fronts clashing head-to-head in theaters with well-defined boundaries - where the adversary with more guns/people/resources win. Because more guns/people directly equates to military power, right?
These folks would do well to spend even the slightest amount of time learning about fourth generational, guerilla war. The fact that bullets ping off of tank armor does not disprove guerilla war.
Let’s take this meme back a couple hundred years and cast you as a counter revolutonary American at the onset of the revolutonary war.

What is your red line? Assuming in 30 years, when the choice is between a candidate who wants 9 genocides and a candidate who wants 10, will you still be militantly democrat? Is there no point at which you would start to call into question your genocidal, fascist, enslaving government?

Turning up the center channel gives you more dialog. But that assumes you’ve got surround sound set up… Producers don’t give as much love to stereo setups these days.
*Laughs in Dolby 5.1 with high quality Remuxes that have a center channel.
Seriously though, you can’t blame them. Audio production these days is engineered for theaters and surround sound. Most of Gen z is watching this content in stereo - either through phone speakers or shitty TV speakers.
Yeah the science is above my head but I believe usually after they rip out the nail (be it whole nail or a strip), they will apply a cotton ball of phenol to the bed and that is supposed to stop the nail from coming back. It failed to do so 3 times in my case, albeit on two different toes.
