Make him say stuff like “okay see if we can make them believe in Jewish space lasers next!” While laughing at some gaudy party. Then have some totally normal looking guy look up from a tweet and be like "they really think we are that dumb? Weird ". Maybe internet trolling could be just accounts that say things like “no one is believing this bullshit anymore. Can’t they think of something more clever to try to fool us with? My insurance rates are skyrocketing with all these hurricanes and fires from the whole damn world getting hotter. If they don’t want to give up profits at least make a believable lie for us.”

Maybe that’s too many words but basically make fun of the messaging the right is sending and try to put everyone on their own side by pretending they themselves, and anyone agreeing with them, is smart. It’s the exact same brainwashing format the right is using. Just use it back.

I’m pretty sure it can, but I don’t actually know what subscription services or how it works to get podcasts downloaded. Spotify has been pretty easy. I guess it’s time to look into this stuff. I have been doing this stuff legit for a while, but I guess I could get back on the high seas too if I have to. I just wanted to make sure the people making content were getting paid, but I think Spotify is bad for that too. So tired of good services getting slowly worse.

I guess yeah, that kind of reads like they are saying to choose Trump. But the church is pretty tired of Trump already, so if they actually wanted to endorse whomever was on the ballot against him, I feel like they together have more members than the fractured message that could come from all the Protestant churches. Unless somehow all the Protestant churches all agreed they liked Trump. Usually the Protestant churches are not all on the same page though.

I wonder if those evangelists can unify more people to a candidate than all the Catholics though.

Honestly it really depends on how boring parts are. If it’s 1x speed for some content and highly predictable what they are going to say, I for some reason assume I know the rest of the sentence they will say, then use the “extra time” I just gained and let my mind wander. Then I miss the next sentence. So strangely, I can understand things better at a higher speed because it doesn’t give me time for that bad habit. Maybe she is like that too, finding she understands it better if she listens to it faster because it makes her focus better.

It’s a low level scared. Like being a sentry in watch through the night. You’re used to it. It’s not like the alarms are blaring and you don’t know where the problem is, but there is always that nagging feeling that something is going to happen to break the safety any second.

It’s basically extortion at this point, but you can’t afford anywhere else either. Where will you get extra money in a few months? Oh well. That’s a problem for a few months from now. Maybe you can be an Uber driver or something. Well, not with your worn down car. Maybe instacart deliveries.

I think if we had a solid counseling setup for people this would be an obvious thing, and you are correct that it should be a mandatory reporting. Until we do, I’m seeing this more as a free version of mental Healthcare which I don’t think should be impeded.

You’re missing the point. I’m not defending them. Their actions are abhorrent andtheir victims deserve justice. I’m suggesting if we act aggressively towards these self reporters, you will actually INCREASE the number of molested children by disuading future self reporting from others.

I’m trying to decrease the number of victims. I don’t know how to give the victims justice, but decreasing future victims is paramount.

Yeah it’s not a great thing. It’s kind of like letting a local drug dealer off Scott free because he helped take down a drug ring. It’s protecting a larger number of children at the expense of not punishing the guy who self reported and tried to get help. Doesn’t feel great but should protect more children overall.

Let’s rephrase. Think of talking to a priest in this case a really poor level of free mental Healthcare. You think the best response is to take that away? I’m all for that if it’s replaced with something better. If we aren’t doing that though, then sure, you’d catch a few molesters when it is first announced. Then the other molesters stop talking to their last resort free counseling. And they continue to mess with children.

The entire issue could be solved with better mental Healthcare in the first place. I like the comments that suggested priests be required to refer these people to a program designed for them. Not straight to jail, but straight to better help so they’d top touching kids, and others will still come through and benefit as well.

Yes I hadn’t considered the reporting could be protected and not lead directly to jail. You are correct this should be the way. We just need to have a program set up to accept them.

That’s a good point. I would be in favor of this if it was a gateway to better therapy and not as a way to punish them. Self reporting should not be punished. Definitely agree that priests should not be the ones doing all the counseling. Just making the point that they currently don’t have any options and this might be currently helping.

These aggressive methods are not working. We need to provide better mental Healthcare for all people. These aggressive methods will lead to more child victims, not less. It’s unacceptable that people are putting their own disgust over the wellbeing of children.
