Linsensuppe@feddit.orgto Photography@lemmy.ml•Can't decide what camera to get as my first dslr3·14 days agoMy choice landed on the G80 and I don’t regret it. For the first lens, it doesn’t really matter, but as soon as you get deeper into the hobby and start buying and carrying more, a smaller camera with a smaller sensor is much more convenient.
And the problem, that smaller sensors are worse in low light, is sometimes true, but in most situations you wont notice it. The only times I had any problems were while photographing small, fast birds in a dark forest.
I get your point, and sometimes I really like seeing them again, but not so many people at once and in a at home, a small space I normally feel safe in.

Its free and open source, has a lot of content (even more with plugins). You do missions to get the storyline forward and to get money, you can also mine asteroid, trade with other planets, attack other ships and plunder them. You discover new species and Outfits to make your space ship better, etc.

I also noticed that the stars are moving horizontally across the images because the guiding wasn’t spot on. Maybe this is just walking noise?

Linsensuppe@feddit.orgOPto Astrophotography@lemmy.world•Question about a new mountEnglish1·5 months agoHow heavy is your equipment? I have a telescope lying around that is used for observation and not photography, but I could buy an adapter for it. The telescope is 3.5kg and my camera another 500g, so ~4kg in total. Do you think it can handle this? Or does something this heavy cause too much issues?
Linsensuppe@feddit.orgOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Encrypted backups to the cloudEnglish3·6 months agoYes, but I use the cloud for other purposes too and have enough storage for a backup, also even if I were to buy another drive, I would like to store one copy offsite without having to buy two drives
I don’t have an autoguider and obviously don’t want to do it manually, so I’m just doing this in post next time
I did use a tracking mount, but of course I didn‘t move the camera. I also used darks, biases and flats for calibration.
I think I‘ll just remove this in post as best as I can in the future.
I did use a heating strip, but set white balance to auto… What should I set it to?
I’ll try the photoshop tips. Thanks.
