I just swapped everything over, it feels. Lemmy for Reddit. Mastodon for Twitter. Firefox for Chrome.

I have to say, it makes me feel better after having switched. Even if it’s a very small piece of control, it’s mine. :)

I’m in the same boat. I feel like I get what Lemmy is really all about now, but I also feel like I still have no idea what all of it really is.

I just spent the last day setting up and browsing mastodon. I love it so much more than Twitter already.

I can’t say I know the answer, but I do know that one of these bugs – Tardigrades – are extremely hard to kill. IIRC one was put into a vacuum and removed after some time. It was either completely fine right away or after a little while.

If I had to give a guess to other things, some of them probably die, yes. Hopefully someone else who knows more will be able to give more information!
