MrQuallzin@lemmy.worldto memes@lemmy.world•Other emotions will be unlocked in the future levels45·9 days agoYou report channels for having different tastes than you? Whether you like the clickbaity thumbnails or not (Majority of us here on Lemmy don’t like them, myself included), we’re quite the minority. Clickbaity thumbnails work, otherwise we wouldn’t see them.
You’re calling the cops on a store owner because you don’t like their advertising. They’re not the ones abusing something, you’re the one abusing the report button.
MrQuallzin@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•To skirt copyright law, Anthropic bought and destroyed millions of physical books to train its "Claude" LLMEnglish27·11 days agoThis as well. Growing up in a house of book lovers, myself included, destroying a book was akin to kicking a puppy. Realistically though, they’re ultimately consumables. They’re meant to be bought, used, and replaced as needed. With luck the destruction included recycling as much as possible, seeing as it’s mainly paper.
MrQuallzin@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•To skirt copyright law, Anthropic bought and destroyed millions of physical books to train its "Claude" LLMEnglish282·12 days agoYeah, this is on the way of being a win. In this case they actually bought the books, which has been one of the biggest issues with LLMs. There’s certainly more discussion to be had around how they use the materials in the end, but this is a step in the right direction.
Actually it was a few small bites of a protein bar and some milk. Working through a new eating disorder so can’t do much else, which sucks.
Thankfully leather isn’t part of my current or previous diets, and it shan’t be in the future either.
That one is pretty good, and surprisingly I hadn’t seen it yet!
Many of them are, many of them aren’t. Largely due to the passing of time, jokes that may have been a hit when these were written just aren’t funny in today’s society.
Alternatively, and also very true, even the greats have bad works. Not every piece will be popular and funny.
In this case… Yeah, I’m not getting it either. Could be a piece about altered expectations. One would expect classy/classical music in a big home like this, blues just wouldn’t be “right” in this scenario.
It’s a silly comic in a comic community. What do time zones have to do with anything?
We can care about multiple things. Top of my list at the moment is caring about what to have for breakfast.
MrQuallzin@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How did you decide what you generally wanted to do with your life?11·16 days agoSame. Started working retail, floated over into the pharmacy since they needed help, and I’ve been there since.
Adaptive cruise control. As long as you’re at or above speed limit, I’ll happily let my car keep me behind you. I generally have no reason to pass unless you’re under the speed limit.

MrQuallzin@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Obligatory monthly "what's your hot take?" question2·23 days agoPNW here as well, I only hear ‘on accident’. It makes more sense than ‘by accident’ since we also say ‘on purpose’ and not ‘by purpose’.

Whenever I block a user or community it seems to auto refresh now but is forgetting to scroll back to the top, leaving me with unread posts above my current position
Do you assume right-handed english-style writing to be the default way everyone writes the world over, in all languages?
This is just my high talking, but I believe our right-handed dominance is tied to our language being written left to right. Had our ancestors chosen to write from right to left, perhaps we would be a left-handed dominant society.
If you believe there is an objective reason one is better than the other, then I’m all ears.
For my wife and I, whose main background noise/entertainment is Let’s Play style videos on YouTube (Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, RTGame and such), paying for premium just makes sense. Like you said, we can and should criticize them for how they handle things, but everyone making a fuss about premium existing just makes no sense.
