I will say, with Duolingo I do appreciate the manipulation to keep me going. I probably wouldn’t have spent near as much time on another language if it weren’t for keeping that streak going. I can definitely understand the harm in it being used for maligne purposes. With any tool, it’s who wields it and for what intent.

Apollo 9 did not go to the moon. It was earth orbit rendezvous practice with the command module and the lunar lander module. Apollo 8 flew to and around the moon. Apollo 10 flew to the moon and lowered the lander (but not to the surface) and rendezvoused with the command module. Apollo 11 was the first to land on the moon.

Even looking at this selfishly, those kids are going to be adults, members of society. The better we set them up for success, the better our communities can be. This has got to be one of the cheapest investments in fighting crime and poverty.
