Sounds like you have nothing against escooters, you just have an issue with under-regulation for battery safety

Quality of headphones/speakers makes a much much bigger difference than the file type/quality.
I’ll take Spotify w/good headphones over Lossless with phone speakers anyday
You can get USB C to headphone jack dongles super cheap. Bluetooth earbuds are also cheap these days. Not really a good excuse

The graphics, audio, cosmetics, etc are all awesome. SyncError is also an excellent map designer and I love the maps he releases
Well to be fair, a perpetual license for media/news wouldn’t make sense

Because there’s lots of cities that have successfully done mostly the opposite and are better for it (Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Montreal, Paris, Bergen, Oulu, etc)

Did a lil research and it looks like it would indeed be in the 10% ish range for my city, but yea sounds like it’s too high in some areas.

From my experience it was more like 5-10% cost was taxes
Almost everyone I know chooses to not learn some random common skill. Not sure it’s typically reasonable to call it “learned helplessness”
Depends where you live. I have friends who aren’t comfortable driving, so hence never drive.
Nothing wrong with that, better than accidentally killing someone someday.
But if you live somewhere without decent public transit and/or cycling infrastructure, you may not have a choice :/
