  • Voter roll purges, where and how many polling places, misinformation mailers and calls, super PACs, electoral college, etc. This election, and most every other election, was totally rigged. They suppress voting in huge ways. They hold it on a Tuesday and it’s not a national holiday. Even if your job doesn’t outright stop you from going, a lot of people can’t afford to take that time and go vote. All of this is well documented and carefully orchestrated. Yes, people voted for Trump, but if shit wasn’t rigged he would never even have been on the ballot. Yes, Americans are to blame for this outcome, but it’s not just the voters. This outcome is decades in the making. They just haven’t been nearly so effective in elections past.

  • From reading all of these comments, I feel like that should be a new thing. Talking about all the terrible things we’d rather experience than have a MAGA person living nextdoor (an immigrant family with trans kids not being a terrible thing, of course).

I’ll go next, I would rather have a painful pimple right at the crease/transition from your leg to your butt that has to be popped every day, which is excruciating, rather than live next to MAGA person.

  • I didn’t really care for the new movies as much as the old one. I liked the sound weapons (“My name is a killing word.” or something along those lines) in the original movie. Paul doesn’t end up with Chani (yet, at least). The Harkonens didn’t seem nearly as vicious. In the original, I felt that they truly enjoyed the suffering they caused and that they caused it for that joy, not just to make a point. Christopher Walken was a terrible choice for the Emperor (seriously, wtf?). There were some lore bits that weren’t in the older one that I did enjoy, but not enough to sway the needle of preference for me.
