  • One of the prevailing themes of the original is that these animals are just living their life and they simply don’t belong here 65 million years in the future. They don’t like being kept in zoos, they can’t eat the flora, they’re simply out of place/time. Their violence towards humans is a side effect of their inability to fit in naturally. The T-Rex flips over the Jeep and then starts biting the tires. He doesn’t know what a Jeep is.

In the sequels, they simply want to eat people all the time. Like, I was high when I saw the 5th one, but I’m pretty sure dinosaurs will go out of their way to eat people even when they’re basically on fire. From what I’ve seen of the trailers from the new one, they will flip over a boat and wait for the people to fall out before trying to eat them. It would have made more sense if they said they accidentally fucked up their brains or something and made them ravenous.

Oh, sorry, that’s as long as you don’t hold your hands up. That makes you invisible for some reason.

It’s cute in theory. Don’t feel bad about sharing it. I’ve seen other ones where there’s a Spartan and a cowboy next to the alien.

Any trans person can correct me, but it just feels kind of “all lives matter.” In Seattle, I’ve seen a lot of signs with very authoritative and explicit language explaining that the bathroom is for everyone. Not as whimsical, but more clear.

  • I built my wife a gaming PC. She’s controller only. It’s basically an xbox. Decided to try ubuntu to see if we could avoid paying for windows.

She’s already 100% Hogwarts Legacy and played a dozen other games.

The only hangup was controller support for Slime Rancher on her 8bitduo. Had to use an xbox controller.

She knows nothing about linux, but she’ll install and play games through Steam no problem.

  • Well now you’re changing your talking point.

But if you believe in killing prisoners, why would you keep them alive until its time to kill them?

Because it’s difficult to receive the death penalty. If it was that easy, they would have offed him in 1989. Plenty of prisoners have been falsely imprisoned for longer than that. You have to be abso-fucking-lutely sure if you’re going to have the State kill someone on the people’s behalf.

It just seems weird that the state cared enough to give him the device but not enough to turn it off.

Yes. This is an unprecedented situation that the courts don’t have an answer for. That’s why it’s in the news. Nobody really knew what it would do or if it would be painful. Internal defibrillators are very new technology and the courts haven’t caught up yet. Hopefully this man’s experience informs policies and laws that prevent it from happening in the future.
