So I gather there’s different ‘breeds’(?) each with a different gestation cycle - some 11 years, others 4, 8 etc.
Which just means every one in a while when the cycles overlap you get crazy pants amounts of cicada instead of just ‘the usual metric fuckton’…

These are structural challenges requiring massive expenditure over _generations_that are needed to succeed. It’s a perfect example of the extended sequel “this is not fine” comic - not sure I got that link right.
