The @everyone at the end got me
Well you see, congress isn’t making a law, the executive branch is just doing blatantly illegal shit with impunity, because congress is full of spineless coward sellouts
I have to know what kind of hot sauce this was over
Sure, agreed. My point was that enthusiam for Harris peaked when she chose Tim Walz over Josh Shapiro as VP, signaling a more progressive path. It came crashing down shortly after when she said she would do nothing different from Biden. People are sick of status quo politics.
That’s precisely why she lost
It’s the main qualification, aside from being an ass-kisser.
I should have been more clear. The post I’m replying to said “what the fuck did THEY think would happen”… which I took to mean the (presumably older establishment) dems that are whining about Hogg’s call for primaries. That’s who I’m talking about.
This is the same Democratic party leadership that ran Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s campaigns. The same Democratic party leadership that cares more about stopping Bernie Sanders than about stopping Donald Trump. They know who’s side they are on, and it’s not the same side as you and me. The Democratic party is unfortunately rotten to the core, and it’s all about the money. Imagine the concept of regulatory capture applied to politicians broadly and you will understand the modern Democratic party and the state of our government. We need a party built from the ground up to represent the working class, whether it be from the ashes of the Democratic party or otherwise. Primary them at every turn or run independent campaigns where feasible. The other challenge is that mainstream media is owned by the same corporate masters, so it will be an uphill battle regardless.
Fluid ounce is a measure of volume (8 fluid ounces per cup) ounces is a unit of weight (16 ounces per pound)
Absolutely shameful. I hope the management at this station and CBS in general get a ton of flak for this. Cowards shouldn’t be in charge of journalists.
You won’t have a hard time arguing that Donald Trump is a massive piece of garbage, but your comment presumes that Kamala Harris and the Democratic party are entitled to votes.
You’ll find there is a large portion of the Democratic base who are not motivated to vote for a pro-genocide candidate, which is exactly the entire point of this poll. The Democratic party needs to do better and stop fighting against the progressive wing of the party if they ever want to regain the trust of working class people. At a bare minimum you would expect them to respect international law.
Then again, they’re doing exactly what AIPAC and defense industry paid them to do, same as the Republicans.
No comments yet, but plenty of downvotes. I wonder if anyone here actually read the article past the headline.
Obviously to target those that are politically inconvenient to you. Or perhaps as a favor / quid pro quo for one of your rich buddies. Or maybe as revenge for pissing him off. You could pretty much guarantee these scenarios if Trump had this ability. And honestly he doesn’t even need to care about any of it, he just needs some conservative think tank to give him a hit list.
If it were the same ratio it would be 70%. 35% is if the death count doubled with zero additional women or children killed.
Harris got a huge spike in popularity initially because she was NOT Biden. She then spent the remainder of her campaign explaining how she would be Biden exactly but less old, as well as trying to reach to the right. Her polling steadily trailed off as people realized it would be more of the same. If she had the courage to differentiate herself publicly in any way, (ESPECIALLY with respect to Gaza) we might be having a different conversation.
I think that’s a great way to look at it. I’m hoping we can get some better leadership in the democratic party willing to listen to people and offer fresh ideas instead of taking the “if you don’t vote for me then you’re hitler” approach.
Leaning to the right didn’t work for Harris. We need someone to energize the base by offering meaningful change.
Good analysis. You also should understand that Americans are HEAVILY propagandized, since most of our major media outlets are also captured by the same corporate interests that bribe our politicians. Critiques of capitalism are de facto not allowed, because that would be bad for business. (Not to mention the previous decades of cold war era “red scare” nonsense the older generations grew up with) As a result, many democrats don’t know how to receive criticism from the left, and can’t even conceive that there might be a different path besides “status quo” and “conservative hellscape”.
100% correct, dude’s a huge narcissist
I agree with you, but the problem is that the DNC doesn’t think of you or me when they think “we”. To them, “we” is wealthy capitalists and their cronies. “We” is whoever is willing to kill any left wing policy before it gets off the ground, at any cost. They would rather lose to fascists than allow a leftist to lead, because they value money over justice and equality. The party elites will not give up control of the party willingly, even for someone who represents overwhelmingly popular policies.
