Wahabbists are largely hated in the Muslim world by both sunnis and shia once you get out of SA, UAE & Turkey. The idea of Wahabbism wasn’t what it is now.

A lot of bad things that happened in the last 40 years could easily be linked to them.

    On top of my head:

    • Sudan starvation
    • Yemen starvation
    • The black decade/terrorism in Algeria
    • Terrorism in Europe, US & Russia
    • Terrorism in Syria (Yazidis mass rape of under age girls, slaughter by HTS/ISIS)
    • Terrrorism in large parts of Sahel region of Africa (with mass rape & mass slaughter)

My brain hurst when I read that HTS members admitting they are receiving large support from the US. Or one of the Baghdadi wives heading home in the UK after he got killed.

Part of growing up dirt-poor is making use of any hardware possible. I excel so much at that skill now thanks to all the open source projects out there (the WM, DEs, distributions, TUIs, …). I can really squeeze a lot from a tiny host & having this mentality as a dev now is some times appreciated 😄.

  • I totally agree.

I hate to admit I didn’t want anything to do with systemd because it took me forever to get somewhat familiar with some other mainstream init systems.

Then, I didn’t care for a while until I developed software that had to keep running using some sort of init system. The obvious choice was whatever the default I had (systemd) and I fell in love with the convenience of systemd (templates, timers, …). I started shipping sample systemd with the things I provide & yes, you are on your own if you use something else.
