I am against animal agriculture for the same reason I am against sexism, racism, ableism, classism and homophobia.

The circumstances of a creatures birth does not dictate what it is “meant for”, every one deserves to live happy, healthily and with dignity, but some simply want to live.

  • Context matters. If it’s alongside some alt right bigotry, then yes. If it’s just a dumb joke about frens and feels, then not at all.

Just how the Christian cross can be a hate sign or a sign of community. In vacuum these are just symbols a collection of shapes and color. Much like these individual pictographic letters combine to make words and sentences. When pepe is used to convey hate, then he is quite literally a hate symbol, but not in any other.

  • HA!

I feel like I should be annoyed at the headline, but honestly it’s clever. Veganism isn’t just a diet, but an ethical framework on minimizing harm so this fits all three aspects in the articles.

    • I support artists who had their work stolen as part of dataset, it’s largely the same reason I don’t eat animals, it’s all about consent. Being harmed without consent is always wrong.

    • Likewise the environmental footprint of meat and AI are massive and unnecessary. The carbon footprint between meat and plant protein is massive, just like the difference between building more data centers and supporting existing artists.

    • AI is bad for your mental health, we don’t really have complete research on what exactly AI does to our brains but I’ve seen enough people thinking they “unlocked sentience”, became “digital gods” and started AI “relationships” to steer clear for my own protection. Not dissimilar to the studies that show a plant based diet is better for your heart and immune system. I’d still be eating plants even if it were bad for my health, I care more about the ethical side, but existing research very much shows it as a net positive.

    Neat concept.

  • My friend, you’re describing Post Malone.

But more to the point, genres are in the ear of the beholder. Anyone can have a personal opinion about what type of music is X or isn’t X, but that doesn’t get to override another person saying they think X is Y. Music is inherently subjective, genres are fluid and fundamentally just labels we use to say “this sound reminds me of that sound”. You can think a person or group is ridiculous but there is no objective truths here, it’s truly just your opinion versus their opinions it’s an inherently unwinable discussion for anyone.

Respectfully, this is a angsty teenage type of wasted energy. Purity testing art is just a no win situation, worry less about the words others use to describe art and focus more on the fact that you’re all enjoying different parts of the same artist.

  • I don’t know you, how could I have possibly pre-formed an opinion WITHOUT reading your post? I’m sorry, but that is just ludicrous and a poor deflection.

Yet also a predictable one based off the responses you gave to those who were forgiving. I’m critical of your actions so somehow unfair and biased, but those saying “That camp police dude is just a wannabe white knight” are applauded. This thread wasn’t a sanity check, it was you fishing for affirmations and apparently that is all you will accept.

Bottom line, you were removed from a space for saying creepy things to women. You should spend more time reflecting why it was inappropriate than writing threads on how “camp police” went overboard with punishment.

  • I think you’re far too old to be this obtuse. Older men complementing younger women “especially when naked” is always going to be read as sexual. Intentions matter far less than actions, so if you want to insist that you didn’t mean to be creepy, that doesn’t change the reality that what you said to her was exponentially creepy.

Honestly, this reads less you taking responsibility for your actions and more at venting your frustrations at her and the community for not hearing you out enough. Even though she gave you multiple chances to do exactly that.

    Top to bottom inappropriate behavior.

  • Exactly!

For the last year I’ve been a primary wheelchair user, I can walk a bit but that only gets me to the bathroom. Since then my weight has become a bit of a problem but I’m already doing the maximum exercise I’m capable of. I have dropped 10 over the last few months just by diet, which is less than I would like but it’s what I can do.

You cant assume the “mad constraints” is just laziness without knowing the full picture. Either answer the question or scroll on, but its cruel to attack someone over what they can’t do.
