For a lot of people just about every aspect of adult life sucks. You cant afford anything, your job is stressful as hell, everywhere you go costs money, your responsible for your own healthcare, etc.

It’s not weird at all to be nostalgic about your childhood where you were happy, loved, and carefree (if you were fortunate enough to have had a childhood like that).

But all the new stuff is enshittified by capitalism so it’s not as enjoyable as the old stuff.

Nature seems to be helping out recently as well.

Had a 3rd shift guy I was trying to fire get 3 extra shifts out of us by just not showing up to the meeting and not answering his phone. HR wouldn’t let me just shut his account off until the 3rd one. That dude was a real POS for other reasons but I can’t knock him for taking advantage of bureaucratic nonsense.

Imagine treating people you are supposed to be protecting as head of state this way. Or continuing to support the head of state who does so. This country is disgraceful.

If you are going through a place with a drive through that wraps around the building and you pull up far enough to block the exit so that it fucks up the works and an employee has to come out and direct traffic to unfuck it you should have your license revoked. Clearly you don’t have the situational awareness to be operating a motor vehicle.

How exactly do you think these things are decided currently if not by people?

Advocate for people who deserve it if your goal is to be understood.

Why bother with all that when it only benefits child molesters? They should be happy with the fact that our justice system is flawed enough that we can’t just execute them like they deserve. There are valuable members of society those resources could be directed towards.

He’s right. Movements need to focus on their thing. Workers rights already has a movement and it isn’t specific to game development. The two should both fight for their interests but trying to combine things that have nothing to do with each other just muddies the waters. How do you write a piece of legislation that covers both how video game rights are handled and also mandates worker rights? It doesn’t make sense.

Mental health specialists are wrong all the time. Prisoners lie to get out of prison. No amount of risk to children is acceptable, especially for someone who’s already proven themselves a danger. There is no benefit to anyone besides the predator letting them back out.
