Ah yes, I see.
The study found that EVs produce fewer non-exhaust emissions in heavy traffic situations. However, when roads are clearer, their greater weight can lead to increased particulate pollution compared to gasoline vehicles.
EVs do have one downside brought by their extra weight, more brutal torque delivery and superior power compared to gas cars: their tires wear out faster. This is also a source of emissions that affects air quality. However, while EVs can’t escape the physics brought by their extra heft, their tires don’t wear out anywhere near as quickly as some deliberately misleading headlines might have you believe, although there isn’t a definitive number stating how that’s different from a combustion car.
They shed less particulate matter overall, but they still wear through tires faster. Both of those articles are about how great regenerative breaking are, and don’t say that electric cars produce less tire dust.
limited access to, or visibility of, online presence could be construed as an effort to evade or hide certain activity
Do you really not? Can you not connect the dots between “limited access to, or visibility of, online presence” and not having a social media account? Do you truly not understand how these two things are related?
A separate cable, obtained by multiple news outlets, directed embassies and consulates to vet applicants for “hostile attitudes towards our citizens, culture, government, institutions, or founding principles”
…
Applicants for student and exchange visas will now have their “entire online presence” vetted, per the cable reportedly said. If students refuse to change their accounts to “public” and “limited access to, or visibility of, online presence could be construed as an effort to evade or hide certain activity.”
Seems like a reasonable assumption to me
if applicants … don’t maintain a social media presence, the government may interpret it as an attempt to evade the requirement or deliberately hide online activity.
Presumably it’s disqualifying.
if applicants refuse to unlock their accounts or otherwise don’t maintain a social media presence, the government may interpret it as an attempt to evade the requirement or deliberately hide online activity.
Here I was, wondering why people don’t just say they don’t have a social media account.
I’m assuming he’s just incapable of understanding the consequences of his actions, because usually there aren’t any.
I just opened up CoMaps because I never actually checked before, and it is in fact the Gulf of Mexico, while google and apple both have “Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)”. I’m also learning that CoMaps is on the app store, so I guess my takeaway is you should try not to use the default apps on your device.
I’m guessing you missed the “Euthanize spider” slide with a little snowflake icon.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a nonprofit focused on combating antisemitism, defended tech billionaire Elon Musk’s “awkward” gesture during a Monday celebratory event which some critics panned as a fascist salute.
“This is a delicate moment. It’s a new day and yet so many are on edge. Our politics are inflamed, and social media only adds to the anxiety,” the ADL wrote in a Monday post on Musk’s social platform X. “It seems that @elonmusk made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute, but again, we appreciate that people are on edge.”
From the Hill if anyone else wanted to know more.
If you’re just going to copy and paste from an NPR article, you might as well provide a link while you’re at it.
Only if you’re counting the Coast Guard and Space Force (and maybe others I might be forgetting). So don’t do that, it would make Donjuanme wrong.
Iran said it was retaliation for the Israeli bombing of the Iranian embassy in Damascus on 1 April,[17] which killed two Iranian generals.
Iran claimed that the attack was an act of “self-defense”[19][20] in retaliation for Israel’s assassinations of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC general Abbas Nilforoushan.
Does it change anything if both of those attacks were after an Iranian embassy was bombed and an assassination in Iran’s capital took place?
You may not hear about her much, but that doesn’t mean Harry Potter isn’t getting a new show on HBO next year. Clearly, JK Rowling is still “in the cultural spotlight” and making plenty of money off of the thing this post is asking you not to support.
Oh. I guess I read that wrong as “willful childishness” and thought they were just being kind of petty at the end.
You could raise your shield and have the guardian destroy the shield but deal no damage to you, and you could also parry while your shield is raised to reflect the beam back. BotW had a parry button you could use while your shield was raised.
I guess that’s the point I’m trying to make. Not giving the name of the movie means either the comment wasn’t for you (because you already know it), or that it doesn’t actually help you.
