rdri@lemmy.worldto Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•Why do the Japanese use umbrellas when it's sunny?101·5 天前The sun in Japan is on a whole another level. Even if it’s cloudy, even if it’s winter, it’s easy to get a sunburn. People with sensitive skin need to be especially careful.
These are just NPUs. They can run AI models, but you are not allowed to run actual Copilot as it is a cloud-based product. You need to research and set up AI models yourself if you want to put that to use.
I also don’t expect that [Chromium + idiotic webdevs] formula will not work on those PCs, so Copilot+ PCs will not save you from Copilot crashes.

I don’t kill people in Hentai Incest Generator 3000. Yet someone prefers to see my transaction only for the first one, citing damages to “the brand”.
Partially because Defender does a lot of unnecessary work. Partially because Explorer now has Chromium under the hood of many elements.
Also Copilot. Not even joking. Having so many copilot buttons in apps is not an issue. The issue is to actually try using it. Even a light conversion crashes both the desktop an Android clients too often. At this point I would rather have those resources consumed by actual AI running locally than on a crappy frontend. Pathetic.
They just missed very old news about how games that depict illegal activities do not really cause people to do illegal activities. Therefore they can’t be illegal themselves.
rdri@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•nobody in webdev knows what graceful degradation is anymoreEnglish75·16 天前i, as a user, should be able to switch off javascript
Webdevs don’t care. They were vibe coding even before AI became a thing. It’s my personal opinion that they should not deserve to be called “developers”.
I dunno. As a user, if you throw me a code that takes 120ms for my CPU to execute, and tell me there is an alternative that takes 2x-3x less time, I would look for someone who provides that instead.
Could it be a dying SSD?

Now Physics Has a Problem.English2·21 天前To me it’s interesting how probable it is for such improbably large black holes to meet in open space. Just how often such events should happen overall for us to notice one during our puny lifetime?

No way I will allow Microsoft to run an AI locally.
rdri@lemmy.worldto Gaming@lemmy.zip•Nintendo bans Switch 2 owner after they played used Switch 1 games — decision eventually reversed after 'proving innocence’English6·1 个月前Online function is a very broad definition. User is basically left with a crippled version of what they had. No ability to update anything or download new games. Not much different from a brick.
I always smile when I see those cute guys. Hope they find enough food and live long.

It seems I overestimated the sun in Japan, and it is much rougher elsewhere, closer to the equator.
