Unpopular opinion, even if people didn’t wake up at 6:30 people would still be complaining [insert time here] is to early
thedeadwalking4242@lemmy.worldto Ask Science@lemmy.world•Was I right about proving many-worlds theory/quantum immortality?English1·14 days agoIt’s not there there’s no where to talk about this, it’s that you have nothing to talk about. Mental and verbal thought experiments pretty much hold no value when it comes to actual scientific discussions. It’s all gotta be math.
thedeadwalking4242@lemmy.worldto Ask Science@lemmy.world•Was I right about proving many-worlds theory/quantum immortality?English3·15 days agoPhilosophically it holds no correlation either, chance is indifferent to your experiences. The fact we are alive at all in the and the pieces fell into place for us to exist is a million to one. It took millions of “coin flips” for all the atoms in your body to be in the place they are right now leading you to be you. It’s just chance.
The only way you could prove the other worlds hypothesis is to observe one in some meaningful way
thedeadwalking4242@lemmy.worldto Ask Science@lemmy.world•Was I right about proving many-worlds theory/quantum immortality?English5·15 days agoSo the thing is, if you roll a dice 100 times and get a 1 each time, it doesn’t prove or disprove anything. Each time you roll the dice you have an equal chance of rolling a 1. Just because you rolled a one before, has no effect on the new dice roll. It’s a common misconception because statistically it’s unlikely overall for you to get 1 100 times, but each individual roll is unaffected by the previous. So the chance remains 1/6 for every roll
Just because you rolled 1 100 times doesn’t mean other worlds exist, it just happened. No extra baggage.
