      As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

    Oh come on, it definitely won’t crash that bad. It wasnt just tarriffs that caused the great depression, it was also complete insolvency of the financial system caused by a bad-debt bubble popping-

        Fucking mood. Ok, I can see myself loving the climate of San Francisco, but I need my urbanism and also California is anti aesthetic. I’ll stick to my PNW tyvm. Or I’d consider the north coast if it ever gets livable again.

The Library of Congress titled the image: “Destitute pea pickers in California. Mother of seven children. Age thirty-two. Nipomo, California.” Thompson was called the "Mona Lisa of the 1930s.
