She was a great friend, with an unfortunate circumstance. If you ever, within your lifetime, become well acquainted with someone who has either schizophrenia or psychosis, remember the person underneath the struggle as they face a constant battle in their heads. I hope mental health support gets better, and it is, however in my experience there is little support for the lasting effects of abuse as it’s mostly surface level things - my local NHS hospital has claimed there is no specialist for CPTSD in my area of London, at all (and not everyone is in the position to pay out of pocket, especially when my friend was already staying at sheltered accommodation).

Many issues in society can be fixed with proper mental health support, I’m just hoping that gets here soon.

When I played Hell blade: Senua’s Sacrifice.

The symbology and story made me understand the struggles of a close friend, who succumbed to her psychosis many years ago. Felt like more than just a game.

I hope they don’t block VPN access.

I played the PC version of this, and the sequel. Honestly this game is what helped me touch type back in the day.

I’ve had this, when I was silly enough to not wear protective eyewear when growing.

I know it may sound silly to many people, though grow lights are bright as fuck these days. The ones I started with were fine, but my current ones on maximum power are so bright they affect my vision when I look into my tent for longer than a few minutes.
Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone getting into or considering growing plants indoors, as this isn’t something I’ve even seen mentioned much: if you have sensitive eyes, definitely grab some lenses for grow lights they make an incredible difference. They’re much stronger than they used to be, and the linings in tents help spread and reflect this too.

Without the lenses my vision is like this picture, for a good half hour or so before it goes back to normal, in one eye. Genuinely worried me! Be safe!

I was offended right from the start. That’s just NOT how an anal probe is installed! And the satellite dish was the wrong size completely.

You also need to be a bit more socially aware.

I’ve had many people tell me I’m attractive, yet at the same time I turned down coffee because it was the evening and I was trying to watch my caffeine intake. During my late school years someone sat next to me as I was eating Lucky Charms with chocolate milk, and said she loves chocolate after sex. My reaction? “Oh, I can only imagine! I quite like the combination with the marshmallows, as they absorb some of the taste. You see…”
Just a couple examples, though honestly it would be nice to have some sort of guidebook on these things. I swear I’ve missed a million and a half opportunities, only to be woken up from my sleep a year later all “MOTHERFUCKER”.

The folks I would do this with, hang out at a spot frequently, have either moved away or died.
It’s been very hard to get to that point again, however Cannabis communities, particularly in Amsterdam, have really been a help at socialising and making friends. I’ve made more friends there since last year than I have for several years prior.
Folks are always up for a coffee and a toke!

One reason I think this whole thing is stupid, when saying it’s ‘for the children’, is because I don’t think the old folks responsible for this remember what it’s like as a young person.

This won’t protect anything. When I was a teenager I’m pretty sure I got turned on by a dot matrix style 3x6 black and green screen, showing large dots of what was meant to be Pamela Anderson.
Hell, I’m almost certain we all knew someone in school who would probably have gotten off at two balloons caught in a mop.

Just seems more like a way to make judgement on Adults.

My method is to get someone to throw the avocados at me, whilst I attempt to slice them Fruit Ninja style.

It’s not the most effective method, however it kind of sometimes works. If Dave’s throw is strong enough, it saves time spent mashing them for guacamole too.

I block most news sources and get the jist of events via memes.

If you have a decent PC, for the graphics, Monster Hunter: World’s character creator works for some website selfie verifications… For some it doesn’t, however I’ll be pirating Death Stranding to give it a go for those ones.

Just thought of throwing that out there. I just pointed my webcam at my monitor with the game running, turned the head a bit and it did the trick.

honestly as much as I feel similarly, it hurts me to know people your age are struggling in such a way.
My 20s were filled with opportunity, things to do, and it didn’t even break the bank. My university had a bar connected to the building, I think pints of alright beer were about £1.50.

I really hope things get better soon. Y’all should at least have the options of things like I did, yet half the things around me closed down or are priced out of range now!

Honestly this is so brilliant I want to do this.

I knew about this before a bit, however in the museum they have a few bits dedicated to what information we have of Sophie Scholl and the White Rose resistance attempt.
As the Nazis tried vehemently to erase evidence of dissent, amongst other things of course, the story of Scholl’s attempt at gathering resistance has survived - despite her expected demise.

I have not read up on my History in many years, however it’s often a short yet symbolic read to the persistence some humans have shown in the face of terror. I do recommend it.
