I’m in my late 30s and feel that way about the schools I went to. I studied chemistry and while some of the material was good most of my grades were about teacher pleasing and completing arbitrary assignments.

They cared more about layout and formatting than about actual content in project reports.

Edit: I think the main purpose of higher schools is not to learn but to prepare you for corporate life. Accept whatever task is given no matter how stupid or wasteful it is. Also don’t challenge authority because your grades will suffer and if you do it too much you’ll fail.

I’ve had some fun with AI image generation. And rephrasing text to make it as if it was written by a WH40K Ork is hilarious.

Any real use case for AI I have yet to find. All code it writes is extremely convoluted if it even runs at all. Much more than my own and I’m not even a real programmer.

My manager thankfully doesn’t require me to use it but the higher ups are really enthusiastic about AI for some reason.

Hmm. I have a 12 channel peristaltic pump at the moment that is meant for watering plants. Meaning they have a lot of downtime so the tubes are compressed for quite some time at the same spot.

Ignore the yellow rollers in the image below, that was experimental. The final version has 3 all metal rollers so the tube is always compressed at one point. Over the tubes are U shaped bracket is mounted for compression.

It’s an entirely custom design from scratch and haven’t uploaded the model to a 3D printing website yet but plan on doing so.

Hmm… I use cheapass silicone tubing, 5mm ID 7mm OD and wear hasn’t been an issue. Perhaps you compress the tube too much. The tube should be held shut so that no liquid flows backwards but also not compressed so much that it wears the tubing out. Your pump should have a variable tensioner on it.

Perhaps also you don’t have enough rollers. At least one roller needs to be in full contact with the tubing (compressing) so that there is no backflow.
