Strider@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your absolute favourite track from a video game?3·15 hours agoToo many favourites to name, but here are a few examples
- lots of Nobuo Uematsu songs in lots of games
- small two of pieces from xenogears
- simple and clean from kingdom hearts
- xenoblade chronicles 2 Ost, especially gormott when the ‘vocals’ kick in
- take control from control
- wide awake from Alan wake 2
…
If companies are allowed unlicensed access (AI training) to media en masse I don’t see a reason everyone else shouldn’t have that either.
That’s fine, it’s great to know your genres!
Strider@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•A dedicated section in my Steam library22·3 days agoI have to say I think it’s a great game… But may I ask since when you’re playing rpgs?
(just curious, yeah it’s great but…)
I assume it’s for people with eyesight issues / blind. At least that’s what I read about it when it was introduced. However even then I have severe doubts in that helping (I also had a legal blind colleague and know how he got around).
So I don’t really think it helps any amount of people weighing against (statistically) possible 1% of Autists that might have more trouble with it.
And yes you’re right it seems some kind of default reaction by people to raise the voice, also for instance when I don’t (and can’t, and I told them beforehand!) understand in busy environments.
Thanks for your answer and perspective! I always think of ‘you’ when a regular stop in my home city casually states that all elevators at that stop are broken (for at least weeks) so you’ll just have to take the next stop (… And then??).
Re public transport:
In Europe a few years back a piercing noise was added for closing doors (for trains, trams subs etc), supposedly helping some disabled.
However exactly this is torture for some people with sensory overload.
Changing this would help a lot.
But I would shit in his hat!
Err… Go to the toilet in his hat. Sorry.
Indeed, however it might be dialed up to like 300% of neurotypicals and literally damaging your body.
So yes, some things are relatable or the typical ‘ah yes I have that sometimes’ but in absolute unrelatable overdrive.
And trilializing traits under which people are suffering can sometimes be really discouraging or worsening depression.

(I am not in aerospace or sailing, so I was guesstimating)

We can definetly agree on that it can provide intelligent answers without itself being an intelligence 👍
Strider@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's one thing your learned at college/university that blew your mind?1·5 days agoWhich actually makes sense if you understand it’s not the wind pushing but the generated updraft at the sail.
(also not point at, but sideways)
😁
Strider@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•New study sheds light on ChatGPT’s alarming interactions with teensEnglish2·5 days agoSorry, no. It’s not intelligent at all. It just responds with statistical accuracy. There’s also no objective discussion about it because that’s how neural networks work.
I was hesitant to answer because we’re clearly both convinced. So out of respect let’s just close by saying we have different opinions.
Strider@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•New study sheds light on ChatGPT’s alarming interactions with teensEnglish2·5 days agoEverything. As we as humanity learn more we recognize errors or wisdom with standing the test of time.
We could go into the definition of intelligence, but it’s just not worth it.
We can just disagree and that’s fine.
Strider@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•New study sheds light on ChatGPT’s alarming interactions with teensEnglish31·5 days agoI am aware, but still I don’t agree.
History will tell later who was ‘correct’, if we make it that far.

Strider@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•New study sheds light on ChatGPT’s alarming interactions with teensEnglish191·6 days agoI get your point but yes, I think being actively told something by a seemingly sentient consciousness (which it fatally appears to be) is a different thing.
(disclaimer: I know the true nature of llm and neural networks and would never want the word AI associated)
Edit: fixed translation error
I feel this very much since I have sensory issues regarding filtering and most people can not relate or understand that it also doesn’t help to shout and I hear pretty well. Still can’t understand them though.
So avoidance of these surroundings is my only option.
