The infrastructure required to support it is vastly more complex & expensive than liquid fuel infrastructure, and it has poor energy density.

Different radio channels are often used in different regions to get the bits from phone to tower and back. Software-defined radio only goes so far, at some point the hardware RF filters and the like have to be compatible.

yes, while space is cold, the vacuum means that nearly all the heat has to be shed by radiation (meaning e.g. infrared radiation, not nookyular radiation) rather than conduction & convection. so the more you scale it up, the bigger the heat sinks needed. think giant metal fins to radiate away the heat. eventually it becomes prohibitive.

interestingly, the 40KW NASA pilot project this proposal appears to be derived from is a Stirling engine, not a radioisotope thermal generator like on New Horizons, Cassini, etc.

a Stirling design converts much more of the heat to electricity than an RTG, but it has moving parts.

I live with two junkfood vegans and oh my god dude. I’m literally broke and eating from food banks and my diet is less bad than theirs.

I left out something important - she was one of three Democrat Senators to miss the vote. (Gallego and Kelly were the other two.)

I am literally too broke for stamps right now, so I’ve been using FaxZero to send letters I write, print, sign in ink, and scan with my phone to the fax number on their Senate website.

I really hope skeptical Jews can gain greater control of the narrative, because imo right now what’s visible on legacy media and corporate social media is very heavily biased to presenting only the far-right view as if Jewish people are a monolith who back it completely.

Not sure on the depiction of Trump as upset by murdered babies on TV, but (as the article points out) this isn’t the first time that’s supposedly happened; it’s food for thought in the age-old “are people with NPD fully human or not?” debate.
