I personally get a headache trying to read this, so it would be hard to practice… Words seem to flow faster though, need someone record their time reading with and without this

I loved the main character of the first one and the idea that even a monster was not as evil as human corporations. The jump to him being a main villain in 2 was too abrupt, there needed to be more story reasons to justify the change, or they shouldn’t have made him a villain at all.

Really creative lighting!
Why use it over Heroic? Heroic seems to be doing everything and is constantly improving as well, and there is no subscription to pay

Yes 😭 And also delayed circadian rhythms, so the body wants to go to sleep later and stay in bed longer
afansfw@lemmynsfw.comto Games@lemmy.world•The Steam controller was ahead of its timeEnglish121·1 month agoThey’ve made it too niche, basically just fps and rts pad.
I loved mine for Rocket league but was really missing the right stick. And the shoulder buttons were super stiff. And you also absolutely had to set up controls because it was so different and the pads were atrocious replacements for dpad or sticks

I remember telling people that it was just like Netflix for games, both in the positive and in the negative sense. And Netflix was still viewed more positively at that point.

The SDK is under NDA, there is no documentation and devkits are not sold freely, so random studios can’t just develop games for Playstation and upload to a 3rd party marketplace
Vivaldi browser has one built-in. It doesn’t always work and some websites just block you for using adblocker, but at least this article looked fine in it with no ads.
Thank you for doing these!
And I still don’t get what is the value proposition for the Junk Store when Heroic exists, seems like it allows for less tinkering and I don’t see it as a positive thing considering how janky the Linux experience can still be at times

So much talent and so many great IPs down the drain because MS can’t decide what the fuck are they doing

Using the computer terminal to unlock stuff felt magical. Only later I learned that Path of Neo was supposed to be a better Matrix game while Enter the Matrix was universally panned. And I’ve played it too, but didn’t get as much enjoyment out of it, it just didn’t have as much soul

There are some things that are still weird to bring back. Like in comparison with pixel art: pixel art was a limitation but also a medium and the best art was created by masterfully utilizing it to its limits, but the PS1-style polygon z-fighting and weird texture warping were not seen as a medium, I can’t really think of a game that would utilize them for any artistic purpose, the most masterful use for them was to make them as invisible to end users as possible, and the whole art was in getting them to a minimum.
Introducing them purposefully and setting them center-stage feels weird, like building a new car out of rusty parts and making sure the seats properly smell of old farts. It is an aesthetic, for sure, but not an attractive one.
