5·4 days agoNorth Korea routinely denounces military drills by the South and the United States, having called some previous exercises “a rehearsal” for nuclear war on the Korean peninsula, even as Pyongyang conducted a range of missile tests and live fire artillery exercises.
South Korea and the United States said last week the annual exercise would begin on August 18 to test command control and troop mobilization under an upgraded security strategy against heightened threat of nuclear warfare by North Korea.

Reuters points out that DPRK usually responds to the US-ROK military exercises with Missile launch testing. The wording of Reuters places blame on DPRK for the aggression, despite the US and South Korea initiating the confrontations.
We will likely see DPRK missile tests soon after the US-ROK military drills.

I think “water based cooking” means boiling and steaming. It’s not talking about soup. It doesn’t say “water based recipes”. It’s saying that cooking things is water is healthier than cooking in oil.

I think this is related to him doing renovations on the White House. There was some talk about building a new expansion on the White House (a ball room?). The statement about DPRK implementing a new death penalty law for promoting Zionism seems like fake news. If such a law exists in DPRK, it wouldn’t be a recent law as the instagram post is from July 15 and says “North Korea has passed a new law”. I don’t see it mentioned on any of DPRK’s websites.
Below is an article from October 13 2023 from DPRK which says that the US is responsible for Israel’s attack on Gaza. “The reality clearly proves that the U.S. is not a ‘mediator’ but a wrecker of Middle East peace and it is not a partner but a foe of Arab.”
Who has a positive association with the word “detained”? Detention doesn’t imply legitimacy. Also it’s really annoying when people police the wording of discussion. They’re not operating as a social club. Also it makes articles harder to search in the algorithm when you use obscure language. It is pretty clear that Drop Site News, an organization which frequently interviews leaders of Hamas, is not supporting Israel by using subliminal messaging.
As example of how “detained” does not imply legitimacy. The screenshot below shows headlines of the US-funded propaganda outlet DailyNK using the word detained to describe alleged actions of DPRK. Would you say that the outlet funded by the National Endowment for Democracy is using pro-DPRK language?
It legitimately makes discussing news harder when people scold language usage. It’s one thing to recognize that there are pro-Zionist outlets which use passive language whitewash Israel. It’s not realistic to expect news outlets to report in shibboleths.
The racism of Israel and US is intertwined. Many police departments in the US receive training from Israel.

The suspension of loudspeaker broadcasting against the DPRK, a halt to leaflet scattering and the allowance of individual ROK people for tour of the DPRK - these are details of the “sincere efforts” the Lee Jae Myung government of the ROK made since the moment of coming into office with hope for improved relations with the DPRK.
In addition to that, Jong Tong Yong, newly-appointed minister of Unification, proposed putting an end to the time of power for power and opening up the time of addressing the good will in kind, the time of reconciliation and cooperation, talking about the revival of the disappeared peace and the restoration of the collapsed south-north relations.
Recently, he is spinning a daydream, guessing the possibility of inviting someone to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit to be held in Kyongju a few months later.
We did not care who is elected president or what policy is being pursued in the ROK and, therefore, have not made any assessment of it so far.
But this time I’m going to make our stand clear.
As for the suspension of the anti-DPRK psychological propaganda broadcasting which the ROK authorities described as the first signal for the restoration of confidence between the south and the north, all this is the scourge they have voluntarily invited and thus it is the issue of themselves no matter how they settle it and is nothing but a reversible turning back of what they should not have done in the first place.
In other words, it is not the work worthy of appreciation.
If the ROK, which had stoked the atmosphere of extreme confrontation in the past after unilaterally declaring the DPRK as its principal enemy, expected that it could reverse all the results it had made with a few sentimental words, nothing is more serious miscalculation than it.
The past few years that the Lee Jae Myung government described as the worst and foolish period were not only the meaningless time for the DPRK.
The DPRK could reach a very important historical conclusion that the ROK, whether it advocates the “democracy” or assumes the mask of “conservativeness”, can never be the partner of reconciliation and cooperation and throw away the preconceived idea contradictory to the reality after breaking away with a very tired and uncomfortable history fettered by the rhetorical expression of fellow countrymen.
We can confirm once again that the true nature of the ROK politician who is surely enslaved to the departed spirit of unification by absorption can not be changed as the fact shows that he has set as a task of the times the normal operation of the Ministry of Unification that must be dissolved along with the reality in which the state-to-state relations are permanently fixed on the Korean peninsula.
When only the 50-odd days since Lee Jae Myung’s assumption to power are brought to light, leaving aside the past history of the successive regimes of the ROK, the ROK authorities made such sweet remarks as defusing tension on the Korean peninsula and improving the DPRK-ROK relations, but their blind trust to the ROK-U.S. alliance and their attempt to stand in confrontation with the DPRK are little short of their predecessor’s.
The land of the ROK adjacent to our southern border will be stained by powder fumes through the successive large-scale joint military drills of aggressive nature, and the U.S. and the ROK will try to shift the blame for the deteriorating situation on the Korean peninsula caused by them onto us as they did in the past. No matter how desperately the Lee Jae Myung government may try to imitate the fellow countrymen and pretend they do all sorts of righteous things to attract our attention and receive international attention, there can be no change in our state’s understanding of the enemy and they can not turn back the hands of the clock of the history which has radically changed the character of the DPRK-ROK relations.
We clarify once again the official stand that no matter what policy is adopted and whatever proposal is made in Seoul, we have no interest in it and there is neither the reason to meet nor the issue to be discussed with the ROK.

Do you believe that the lawmakers decided that they would abuse the bill before or after it was passed? For your post to make any sense, you would have to believe that the lawmakers did not have malicious intentions prior to passing the bill.
Based on the observable reality that the law is being abused to prevent people from seeing Israeli war crimes. The law has been active for less than a week and it is already being used to protect Zionist ideology. We are observing the this law being used maliciously immediately after going into effect and you are suggesting that we must still frame the law as if it was passed with good intentions.

There was already a mechanism that exists for preventing minors from seeing pornography on the internet. It’s called parental supervision. Additional to monitoring their child’s internet usage, a parent can use a firewall on their own devices to block content unsuitable for minors.
The motivations of internet ID laws are made in bad faith. This has been observed in the past year with over 20 US states requiring porn websites to verify IDs of every visitor and then the states do not provide the websites with the tools needed to verify the ID of each visitor. Then the websites block traffic from the states, so that they don’t get sued. The intention of these laws is to outlaw porn websites and the promoters of these laws blatantly say so.
The people pushing Internet ID laws are lying. Their intentions are not protecting children. People who want to ban transgender medical care, claim that they are protecting children. People who want to ban abortion, claim that they are protecting children. People who want to ban same-sex marriage, claim that they were protecting children. It should be considered that reactionaries commonly use “protecting children” to justify enforcing their puritanical world view.
21·19 days agoIt’s not just porn that is blocked by the UK ID law. It’s any post that is marked NSFW on reddit or even channels on discord which are marked as 18+. I would not at all be surprised if TERF Island decides that topics related to gender or LGBT are now 18+ as well.
You are creating a false dichotomy. It makes no sense to compare unrelated things. You could equally say “People care more about banning porn than they do about starving people. Why are we spending money on implementing a porn firewall when that money could be spent on feeding hungry people?”
Why should you be mad that UK is requiring ID for many website, not even porn related? Probably because the UK government is trans exclusionary and Zionist. They will absolutely abuse this new power.
