I saw those in New Zealand, in the case of steep hills they are hard to beat.

The way you fix traffic is MASS transit, trains, subways, street cars and (maybe) busses that can hold dozens to hundreds of people at a time while taking up less space.

Anti-Canadian propaganda!

Liberal or conservative, our government is a machine for selling Canadians’ quality of life to businesses.
Nik282000@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Marc Carney wants to spend an extra $9B on defence by April. Is that possible?4·9 days agoStop subsidizing oil and gas, in 2024 Canada handed over 29 BILLION to the oil and gas industry. It needs to stop now. After more than a century of industrial scale operation, if oil and gas can not operate without subsidies then maybe they are a failure as a business and they should be allowed to collapse.
30 Billion could provide a lot of healthcare, public transit, and affordable housing.
If the liberal government wants to spend 9B on defense I am all for it provided it comes from Canada’s industrial scale parasites.

It was a jab at the smooth brain, black guns are scary, policy makers we have.
Nik282000@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada 'disappointed' by Trump boosting tariffs to 35%, says Carney322·12 days agoI keep reading about how shocked Canada is by this behaviour, who didn’t see this coming?
We have always been on the shit end of the trading stick. We sell energy at a huge discount, we sell petroleum at a discount, we sell lumber at a discount but we have always paid a premium for US imports. Fuck 'em, I’m tired of “the greatest country in the world” getting a deal because our politicians have been kissing their ass for decades.
Canada should be focused on subsidizing domestic prices by making trade agreements where we don’t loose money,
Nik282000@lemmy.cato Ottawa@lemmy.ca•Councillor calls on Ottawa to consider banning right turns on red lights at downtown intersections3·12 days agoMaking driving less convenient (in the eyes of drivers) has the added benefit of reducing traffic as drivers avoid the area. I love when a speed camera or construction happens in my area because traffic gets cut in half.
Nik282000@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Supersized American cars shouldn’t be a barrier to Canadians getting some great European options - Why are we banning small cars from being sold in Canada?84·12 days agoThere should be an immediate ban on assault style vehicles and all vehicles sold with black metal panels instead of wood. Fuel tanks should be restricted to 300km and transmissions should be manual not automatic!
Shit, actually I would kill for a tiny, wood paneled, stick shift car…
wow, guess I have to add an /s to this
Industrial electrician, I have to wait until the parking lot is empty before I leave lest the 100th person ask me to put potlights in their fucking basement.

It’s right in tfa.

You have snapped back with “I know you are but what am I?”
Nik282000@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Online misogyny seeping into classrooms in 'frightening' ways, teachers and experts say1·21 days agoFeel free to express your deep understanding of the situation in more than a one-line response.
Nik282000@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada's Bill C-2 threatens to undermine privacy & encryption61·21 days agoListen, you clown. Canada has two options at the federal level, Trump North or Conservative Lite. We got Conservative Lite ONLY because Trump South tried to interfere and failed miserably. If you think for a second that there is a party that would “fix” Canada then you live in a rose tinted fiction.
Nik282000@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada's Bill C-2 threatens to undermine privacy & encryption6·21 days agoMulvad, they offer actual privacy, you can even pay them anonymously via cash if you want. Never had any problems with them.
Nik282000@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Online misogyny seeping into classrooms in 'frightening' ways, teachers and experts say1·21 days agoWe have age limits for smoking, drinking, driving, etc. and don’t expect only parents to be involved in that protection.
Uh, if a parent gives their kids smokes, booze or car keys before they are of age it is 100% on the parent.
Parenting is the act of instilling values and teaching the ability to reason out whether a behaviour or decision is appropriate. That includes whether or not to drive a car without a license, whether or not to drink when underage and whether or not it is appropriate to tell your teacher to get back in the kitchen.
That photo makes my ass hurt, you’re a stronger cyclist than I.
