Du musst nur an die richtigen Orte fahren. Vor ein paar Jahren hatten wir auch eine Hitzewelle und eine Kollegin fand das ganz angenehm, weil sie gerade aus dem Death Valley kam und da ein paar Tage knapp 50 Grad hatte.

It is true, that for consumers the disk is dead when the head crashes onto the surface. But there are companies who specialize in data recovery and they can still read all the undamaged parts. You can even see in your picture that there is only a small band on one disk affected by the crash. The other parts can still be read. Even the broken piece can be read, except the corners. It will by no means be cheap or fast, but if the data is worth more than the recovery it can be done.

If you have the right by law to return something, they must not charge a fee. That cost needs to be included in the original price. If the return policy is optional, then they can charge something. And you can decide to never buy anything from them ever again. And trash that store on social media for its hostile policy.
