This is one of the few “internet ideas” that actually made me wonder why it hasn’t been done. Not only would it please fan bases, it would draw huge viewership to shows announced to be on the upcoming episode list. Show would have to release an episode once ever X months
Getting the actors to come back would also be a hassle, especially the ones whose careers have taken off in a bigger way. Not just scheduling, but paying as well. Recasting would cause huge issues as well.
And if they even can get permission and afford the rights and find (and afford) some of the original writers and actors, the fanbase would probably end up unhappy with whatever ending you serve. They’ve had plenty of time to build up impossible expectations.
