Hey, so did you ever finish your video series about Cassie and the caterpillar morph? I loved the first three, but never … no, sorry, I get it, this isn’t the place. Sorry! Sorry.

Years ago, in the scuba subreddit, I posted some pictures of some gear sets we had in a glass case in our shop we’d recovered along with the bodies of their divers in a local cave. It’s our warning not to fuck around with cave diving without the proper gear and training.
Another person in the sub started chatting about some other interesting memorabilia I’d put up in the shop, and it was clear he was one of my divemasters.
So he and I suddenly knew each other’s reddit handles, and turned out our paths had crossed in several other niche subs, and we realized how many hobbies we didn’t even realize we shared despite hanging out weekly at the shop.
I hope none of you have a habit of commenting on porn threads, because that would surely be an uncanny way of finding out eachother’s kinks
I specifically use my normal username and profile pic as a challenge to people. Oh, you want to laugh about how you saw me in a thread discussing a fetish porn game? Care to explain what you were doing there? Okay, now, give me your list of favorites.
Nah - it was boring stuff like 3d printing, guns, and PC building.
We’re both gear nerds.
one of these things is not like the others
Yeah, scuba diving is completely different.
That’s why I love forum like Lemmy. You can get really deep on single topics that interest you. It’s funny to click on a person though because you can see their odd interests. The best is when someone has porn and normal comments on one account. Really full transparency
Dude who has energy for multiple accounts these days
Lemmy is great since all the NSFW is in 1 instance. Easy to manage
There really is an xkcd for everything.
Do people actually use the same name on every platform? I know I did, until I realized I specifically wanted to avoid people from connecting the dots. Nowadays though, every site gets a new user name.
Depending on the purpose of the account: Sometimes yes.
I’ve been called out on Lemmy by people I know from a specific Twitch channel, not like a small channel, but not one of those super huge ones. It’s probably because I’m a huge nerd and hang out where the best nerds hang out <3
It’s fun, I ran into a youtuber I watch on Reddit once. I think ot was actually him commenting on my post
Happened to me when my colleague was using this small php template engine written by the admin of this small forum I was a regular at.
