Place your bets on muskrat chickening out.

Stewart is going to rip him a structurely superfluous behind.

If he doesn’t chicken out, he might storm out mid interview when John absolutely stomps on every misleading or false thing he says and pushes him to actually define his role in DOGE which could open him up to legal trouble (if that term meant anything anymore)

Jon would “win” if it happened, but it won’t matter.

After seeing Trump utterly dog walked across the stage in his debate performance and still win the election, I have lost any remaining faith that some great Aaron Soorkin-esque moment will change a fucking thing in this country.

It would be entertaining though; so that’ll be fun.

Here’s how it’s going to go down:

    • Jon will ask pointed questions.
    • Elmo will respond with rhetoric, lies, half-truths, incendiary nonsense, &/or dumb jokes.
    • Jon will call him out on his bullshit.
    • Elmo will respond with more rhetoric, lies, half-truths, incendiary nonsense, &/or dumb jokes.
    • Jon will be appalled at Musk’s lack of integrity, ethics, intelligence, or humility.
    • The next day, right-wing pundits will spin it as a victory for Musk - saying he made Stewart “speechless and dumbfounded” with his amazing performance.

I have only listened to the podcast for a year but holy shit i die not expect how much stewert softballs his guests and never argues anymore when they are spewing bullshit. I started getting agitated for example when the old white house press secretary came in saying “everything is fine, no crisis here, it’s really Obama’s fault that trump and musk are dismantling the government, dems need better press” and he just nods along. It’s so strange because I feel like that wasn’t the case 15 years ago or whatever.

The only one he pushed back on recently in my memory was Chris Christie.

I do not have high hopes for this upcoming one. It is going to be like Jake Paul vs mike Tyson, nobody wins and it is just for show.

Idk. Seeing how hard he worked for the first responders in NYC, he might just shoot the guy to save the rest of us.

I doubt Musk goes in front of a lot of people at all anymore.

Musk appeared at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) last week. I assume there were a decent number of people there (but maybe not a number of decent people).

And his appearance was so incredibly cringy. I have read through the half of that transcript on verge and omg dude literally has brain damage.

I have a bunch of highly functioning k addicts around me and it’s exactly the same way they speak when binging on K a bit too much. Just stammering and these random bleeps of out of context thoughts constantly seep into their conversations.

Cringey doesn’t even capture it for me. Seeing him with that stupid chainsaw and especially the way he said that chainsaw for bureaucracy comment made me feel disgusted in some way I didn’t really think was possible.

This laminated faced fucking Nazi wannabe autist illegal immigrant piece of shit should be expelled into the sun using one of his own giant space x rocket penises.

I assume they’ll have to edit for length regardless - so I imagine they’re planning to make the unedited clip available online, like they’ve done with their other extended interviews. Lot less restrictions on what can air that way, too.

The headline makes it sound like they were in talks with each other. Musk gave his “terms” to a random Twitter user. I seriously doubt this will happen. Stew beef would completely humiliate Musk and his mediocre white guy confidence wouldn’t save him.

It’s on cable and it’s aired late enough that they would not have to censor anything if they didn’t want to. It’d be great if Musk tried that and they just let it all go.

Well, that’s true, but the fact that he said, “I’ll only do it if they air it unedited!” makes me think he thought they would say, “no,” and he’d be able to decline while saving face. My gut tells me he’ll make up another excuse now. I’d love to be wrong, though!

    From the article…

Musk appeared to accept the challenge, replying Tuesday to one user, “I will do it if the show airs unedited.”

“The Daily Show” took notice, reposting the message Wednesday from its official account accepting the terms.

      Unedited, streamed live.

Though this does remind me of that asshole and wife abuser Steven Crowder bailing from a debate with Sam Seder.

Seder took steps to make sure Steven was available and couldn’t just say, “oh I got a thing”, used Ethan from H3h3 to rope a dope him.

And then came the showdown and Steven bailed.

If anyone can do this it’s Jon Stewart. I know he’s mentioned on several occasions that he doesn’t have any political ambitions whatsoever, and he’s been true to his word. But sometimes circumstances allow great men to take great leaps, and on rare occasions, do great things.

The fact that The Hill is already running a piece trying to play him off as a comedy star from an era that has all but vanished due to the corporate landscape, is all I need to know to believe what he has to say. They’re already trying to downplay and dismiss the results before they’ve occurred.

What are the terms of the interview? Will it be in person in front of an audience, via webcast, in front of the burning reichstag, etc…

The thing I hate though is whenever someone interviews Elon it seems like they can’t help but crawl right up his ass. If you wanna see real cringe look at Bill Maher’s interview with him. Now he criticizes Elon, but when he had him on I’m pretty sure he was what that AI video of Trump and Elon was trained on.

Maybe stew beef is different, but I figure if Elon detects he can’t get the interview he wants he’ll bail.

I am so excited to tell you this.

When Tucker Carlson (right-wing shithead) was hosting a show called ‘Crossfire,’ and still wearing a stupid bow tie, he made the mistake of agreeing to have Jon Stewart on his show. Here’s a link to the wikipedia page. There is a whole page for this one incident.

Here is a line that might appeal: “Three months after the appearance, Crossfire was cancelled and Carlson was fired; commentators differ as to how impactful it actually was, but generally agree that Stewart was at least part of the reason.”

And one thing is for sure, Tucker Carlson may have kept his incredibly stupid “man just asking questions” expression… but he stopped wearing that stupid bow tie.

Agreed. I used to agree with a fair amount he had to say, but now I think he was being disagreeable so that he could appear edgy and smart, and it allowed him to talk down to people. I got tired of him a decade ago or more.

Just keep his security goons away from the production facilities and equipment. In fact, they should hire three times the amount of security Musk has. Just remember, they have been deputized by the U.S. Marshall Service, so they have the power to arrest people.
